Yo-Yo Ma

Yo-Yo Ma plays libertango music composed by Astor Piazzola.

Yo-Yo Ma (Chinese: 馬友友) is a French-born American cellist and winner of multiple Grammy Awards. Ma's primary performance instrument is the Domenico Montagnana 1733 cello built in Venice and nicknamed Petunia. Another of Ma's cellos, the Davidov Stradivarius, was previously owned by Jacqueline du Pré who passed it to him upon her death, though its current owner remains anonymous.

Ástor Pantaleón Piazzolla (March 11, 1921 – July 4, 1992) was an Argentine tango composer and bandoneón player. His oeuvre revolutionized the traditional tango into a new style termed nuevo tango, incorporating elements from jazz and classical music. He is therefore widely considered the most important tango composer of the latter half of the twentieth century.
